1st Scrapbook class of the year

I held my first scrapbook class of the year yesterday, we had a great time. The girls did a wonderful job on their pages. The class was a two page layout using the waterfall technique...It's a great way to use up a lot of those photos that don't really need a whole 12 x 12 page. We used 11 photos on one page! I have a Jacob's ladder class coming up, this class includes 8 potos and will make a great gift for a loved one for valentines day.

Then I have a card class that includes the cool criss cross card, I made this one as an auction item for the Gala of Trees for the Assistance League of Bend, we will also make a neat pocket card and a window card. It should be a lot of fun and you will walk away with at least 6 new card techniques!

Have a wonderful day!

The Celebration continues!

The boys decided last night that because I didn't get a birthday cake on my birthday, they would make one for me! As you can see they made my favorite, chocolate, not one, but two! These are all of the cards I received, I feel so fortunate to have such good family and friends! Of course my favorite has to be the one in front that the boys made, frogs of course. Thanks, everyone!

Tucker is home sick today so I hope to get a lot done around the house. I have the baby shower lecture and a class this weekend to prepare for, I am really looking forward to both of them! I hate calling in sick, but sometimes you just need the extra time!
Have a great day today!

Birthdays, birthdays everywhere!

All my life I have compared birthday dates with people that I have known, hoping to find someone born on January 22, but not until I moved to Bend did I ever find someone who shares this special day with me. Not only did I find one, but I found two! Mary, a friend of the "sisters" and Jill a friend from school/work are both celebrating their birthdays today as well! Last night I had the wonderful opportunity to spend my birthday eve with Donna and the "sisters". They treated Mary and I to a wonderful lobster dinner and wine at Anthony's. It was so nice to be able to spend some adult woman time! I find that I spend a lot of time with kids! Thank you so much, Donna, Linda and Sandy! I had a wonderful time and I feel so blessed to be able to call you friends! Even though you give me a hard time about hangin' with the "old folks"
Sandy, Donna, Mary, Linda, Lynn, Me!

I am blessed!

I feel so fortunate to be able to enjoy my hobby of scrapbooking and meet new friends at the same time. After all that is part of scrapbooking, sharing with others. So last weekend when Dilia asked me to come over and "play" with her I jumped at the chance. I met Dilia when I worked at Michael's, and she has since followed me to Scrap-A-Doodle.She is so eager to learn and was willing to share her beautiful home with me.

I usually hate to get the mail because it is usually bills, Except Christmas time, but yesterday I received this beautiful card in the mail!

I could recognize instantly that she had made her own envelope, it is beautiful, with a scalloped edge and fancy address label. Great job, Dilia, I am so glad you are having fun with your new Cricut!!

I also have a new opportunity to teach a class to "newbies" in a couple of weeks. It's not going to be like my usual classes where I teach a technique, it is more of a lecture. So, I have been working on my notes and trying to remember all of the important details that someone new to scrapbooking needs to know. I am so excited to be getting my name out there more and I am looking forward to more jobs in the future. If only I could bring myself to start on my own wedding scrapbook. What? It's only been 11 years!! One of these days I will just sit down and get it done!!

I hope everyone is well.

P.S. Please keep the family of Zach McBride in your prayers, he was killed in Iraq this week and was raised here in Bend. Although we didn't know him, his family lives in our neighborhood, and we know how the loss affects the family and friends.

I can't believe Tucker is 10! Happy Birthday, son! We are so proud of the young man you have become, you are kind, caring and sensitive, we love you so much!!

This is the view of our home this morning, I love the snow, it is so beautiful here! Last night the boys (including Marc) decided to build a snow ramp for sledding, pretty soon we had all of the neighborhood kids at our house!

Have a wonderful day!

Tucker is almost 10!!!

What do 10 year old boys do at a sleepover?
Eat, Eat, Play, Eat, Hot Tub, Eat, Watch movies, Sleep, Eat and Play!

Tucker had some friends over last night to celebrate his 1st double digit birthday! He chose some really nice boys and they had a blast. They played dart tag, watched Night at the Museum. They ate Tacos, Cake, Hot fudge sundaes and French Toast. Boy can those boys eat! It was fun and I am thankful we had such a great group of boys!
